Scientific work of the Institute is organized and implemented in accordance with current legislation of the Russian Federation, normative legal acts of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Institute regulation, perspective and annual plans, decisions of the Academic Council of the Institute.

The main goal of scientific work of the Institute is organization and conduction of fundamental and applied research aimed at efficiency improvement of scientific process.

The main tasks of organization and conduction of research activities of the institute are:

• determination of relevant and practically important problems in health care;
• organization, implementation and coordination of relevant fundamental and applied research;
• development of scientific methodical and reference materials;
• development and practical application of research results;
• preparation and conduction of scientific conferences and workshops;
• implementation of scientific research not only by academic teaching staff, but also by Institute graduate students and interns according to the plans of their education;
• creation of necessary conditions for scientific work, rational use and development of research participants' potential, improving of quality and effectiveness of research, training and professional development of employees.
